I’m Mark Higgins, a lifelong Red Sox fan from the Northeast. Baseball (and sports more generally) has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember — there’s something timeless about this game. It’s not just a pastime, it’s a way of life.

After playing every major sport in high school and football in college at Colby, I continued coaching at the high school level. “Baseball Abides” is a nod to the endurance of the sport. Through all the ups and downs, the heartaches and the triumphs, baseball remains. It’s a constant, a tradition passed down through generations. This site is a place to celebrate the purity of the game, to remind ourselves why we fell in love with it in the first place.
